RWTH Aachen

RWTH Aachen University, established in 1870, is divided into 9 faculties. The university budget amounts to 611 million Euros of which 194 million Euros are third-party expenditures. The Institute for High Voltage Technology (IFHT) belongs to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (RWTH Aachen). 30 of its more than 50 employees are researchers investigating on topics of circuit breakers, insulation systems, sustainable power systems, systems engineering. Main focuses of research and education of the IFHT are power components and the holistic analysis and modeling of power supply systems.
The IFHT will take the role of project coordinator and contributes to number of tasks and workpackages while being directly responsible for the lead of the work packages WP1, WP3 and WP5. Its main contribution to the project is the assessment of the basic conditions and requirements as well as the analysis of the proposed actions’ impacts.
